About Organic
People choose to buy organic for a variety of reasons, including health, safety, and environmental concerns.
Whether you’re shopping for plant-based or animal products, here are some of the key benefits of choosing organic:
- Growing practices. Organic crops are non-GMO and grown without pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.
- Animal welfare. Organic animal products are made from animals raised without antibiotics and growth hormones.
- Farming practices. Organic farms typically practice more sustainable methods, producing food with a lower environmental footprint.
Organic labels are regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) with stringent requirements. There are a few different labels, which vary based on the percentage of organic ingredients in the food:
Here is a brief breakdown of the three certified organic seals you may find on products:
- 100% Organic. All (100%) of the ingredients are certified organic.
- Organic. Nearly all (95%) of the ingredients are certified organic.
- Organic Ingredients. Most (at least 70%) of the ingredients are certified organic.
To help you shop your values, all of the products in this collection contain organic ingredients — most, but not all, are certified organic by the USDA.
